•  Close an established practice

•  Decline to retire

•  Volunteer MD in local nonprofit hospice

•  Full-time hospice activity a) daily team meetings b) home visits

•  Intensive study program in hospice and palliative care

•  Hospice medical director

•  Attend seminars, conferences American Academy of Hospice& Palliative Medicine

•  Board certification

•  EPEC Trainer course ( Education for Physicians on End-of Life Care)

•  Begin small palliative med. consultation practice

•  Lectures on End-of Life and Managing Chronic Pain

•  Establish Palliative Care Institute of Southeast Louisiana (501c3 nonprofit community-supported educational corporation)

•  Teaching at med. school, large med. center, local hospitals, community healthcare professionals.
